About Dr. Jason Ross

Education and Career

I received my dental education from the University of Iowa Dental School, located in my hometown of Iowa City, Iowa. During my time at dental school, I had the privilege of learning from professors and auxiliary staff whom I already knew, creating a welcoming and familiar environment. One unique aspect of my education was the behavioral component incorporated into the training, which emphasized both student growth and development, as well as patient relations.

After graduating, I pursued further training by completing a residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Minneapolis. This intensive residency experience allowed me to enhance my skills and knowledge in the field of dentistry. Following my residency, I joined Lakeshore Family Dentistry, where I found a culture that aligned perfectly with my values and goals. It is quite uncommon to find the right fit immediately after residency, and I consider myself fortunate to be a part of Lakeshore Family Dentistry.

Advanced Training and Expertise

Throughout my career, I have undertaken advanced training to provide comprehensive dental care to my patients. I have completed an aesthetic course at the University of Minnesota and received training at The Dawson Academy, as well as the Pankey Institute. These experiences have equipped me with the skills necessary to handle complex restorative and aesthetic cases. I am also involved with Spear Education and participate in study clubs to stay at the forefront of advancements in dentistry.

JPR-3

I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve my patients and contribute to their dental health and well-being. It is my privilege to be a part of the Lakeshore Family Dentistry team, where we strive to provide exceptional dental care in a compassionate and patient-centered manner.

Patient-Centered Approach

My treatment philosophy revolves around thoughtful treatment planning and patient collaboration. I believe in truly hearing and understanding what my patients want and need, and then engaging in an educational dialogue to present them with various treatment options. I strive to empower my patients to make informed decisions about their dental health, considering factors such as budget and individual preferences. My goal is to provide the most effective and impactful treatments while minimizing the amount of dentistry required. I believe that sometimes, smaller-scale interventions can have a significant positive impact on oral health and aesthetics.
